Deborah E.'s Story
I was born and raised In Bridgeport, Connecticut. I attended Notre Dame from September 1965 - 1969 in the college prep program. I graduated from Notre Dame on June 8, 1969. I initially attended Sacred Heart University. After 3 semesters I transferred to UConn where I spent most of my time finding myself. Translation: I partied hearty and my studies suffered for it. ng my masters (May 1978) I moved to Massachusetts where I worked as a Financial Aid Officer at Salem State and Roxbury Community as the Director of Financial Aid.
And then I did a crazy thing: I got on a plane and moved to Hawaii sight unseen! Well it wasn't entirely crazy. my younger sister lived here then. Unfortunately within a year of moving here she moved back to the mainland but I chose to stay. I LOVE Hawaii and after 30 years it's home!
Today I make my home in Mililani, Hawaii which is located in central O'ahu. I teach at a nearby public school, Hale Kula, located on Schofield Barracks, an Army installation in Wahiawa, Hawaii. I have been at Hale Kula for the past 18 years, the last four in second grade. I love teaching and really enjoy working with my students.
